Garrison- Two floors with the second floor overhung or jettied, with pendants at corners of the overhangs. Garrisons usually having casements windows.
Saltbox - The one room house often expanded forming a large house with a centrally located chimney. The "Saltbox" shape provided extra space by extending the rear of the slope of the roof, usually casement windows.
