ROOFS

1.) Gable - The triangle end of a wall under a roof forming of two sloping planes.
2.) Gambrel - A ridged roof with two slopes on each side, the lower slope having a steeper pitch, ex. a barn roof
3.) Hip - A roof with all four sides meeting at the top
4.) Square on Hip - A hip with all four sides forming a square on the top of the roof
5.) Mansard - A steep, almost vertical roof usually with dormer windows enclosing the top floor.
6.) Saltbox - A gabled roof in which the rear slope is much longer than the front.
