North Shore Music Theatre
Artwork and Commentary by Emily Elliott
This is the 50th anniversary of the North Shore Music Theatre.
For fifty years now the music theatre has been opening its doors
to let the people of Beverly in to witness the entertainment
of the theatre. The theatre has brought many musicals to life
and has brought famous people as well. Since its opening
in 1955 the theatre has been a popular place to have a night
out on the town. As long as there are people who want to be
entertained and there are the people who want to entertain the
North Shore Music theatre is going to continue to live for another
fifty years. The theatre has become immortal to Beverly residents.
Whenever you hear Beverly you think of North Shore Music Theatre,
"the theater in the round". And in fifty years
when you hear Beverly you will think of North Shore Music Theatre,
"the theatre in the round".
The actors and performers come from all over the country to
perform at the theatre. People such as Bill Cosby, B.B. King,
Loretta LaRoche, and many many more have come to perform. The
theatre provided an experience like none other. Not only does
it entertain, but it teaches. The theatre offers internships
to college graduates. For the younger children the theatre offers
the chance to star in children shows and even adult shows. Today
not only are Beverly residents coming to the theatre, but people
from all over New England and even other countries. The theatre
has not only provided entertainment to the masses. North Shore
Music Theatre has provided jobs to actors, directors, choreographers,
and even people who help to keep the theatre up and running.
This picture is only a timepiece for 2005. However the theatre
will continue to stand and that will not change, but the shows
will.
