REPORT OF SUPERVISOR OF MANUAL TRAINING IN THE GRADES

Dear Sir: I herewith submit my annual report for the manual training in the Beverly grade schools for the year 1926.

The Practical Arts Classes of the Briscoe School

The work of this year has proceeded along the practical lines as indicated in my report of last year. The following projects are typical of the work planned and carried out by the pupils of these classes:
Throughout the year the practical arts boys have done all the repair work in the Briscoe buildings, such as laying a new North Carolina floor in the entry of the old building, repairing desks, making and painting window-boxes, remodeling and painting the domestic science room, repairing chairs and replacing window cords and putting in new window pulleys (in all, a total of eighteen windows were put in order), repairing doors and cabinets in the cooking room, putting new tread on stairs in new building, re-nailing all balusters in stairways of old building, etc.
The boys of these classes are learning to do practical repair work so that home repair problems can be handled without difficulty.

Grade Schools

The working the grade schools has been handled by Mr. Waite in his usual efficient manner. Some of the projects made in the grade schools are: Yachts, medicine cabinets, card tables, inkstands, and footstools.
